Feels like I’ve had this puzzle in my stack a long time- since I started seriously collecting puzzles. Decided to finally do it and get rid of it. It was difficult– took me an entire week for just 500 pieces! All the jumbled feather texture and mottled pattern is hard to discern where things go. It doesn’t help that the box image features some pieces placed over the picture, without defined edges, obscuring what I want to see. (No poster, if it originally had one that’s been lost, and there’s no picture on the back and the ones on the sides of the box are too small to be much help). The pieces are very squarish (reminiscent of Tectonics in that regard) with small knobs that don’t have much variation to them- so while there’s an average amount of piece shape variety, I did a lot of try-every-piece-in-this-spot per shape. Slow going. Some finger pain. And the pieces felt thin and a bit flimsy- quite a few knobs had the top layer lifting off. I didn’t bother to glue them down this time. I felt a bit proud of finishing just because it was such a challenge, but I’m glad to move on and do something else now!
Have to say, I’ve seen there’s quite a few other puzzles by this brand of wildlife photos, but now I won’t be inclined to pick any of them up. Unless I really like the picture.
