Sometimes a puzzle will surprise you! At first glance browsing the thrift shop this would seem like one to pass over: an older Kodacolor puzzle, photograph for the picture, probably thin pieces with a boring piece cut, etc. But I peeked in the box and saw some wacky shaped edges and thought oh wow, this one has a random cut! So I bought it for a few dollars. It wasn’t until I actually sat down to sort out the edge and do the puzzle that I realized it’s not a random cut. It’s standard ribbon cut, but some pieces have elongated points on the ‘wings’, so they feel very different. Kind of how many of those Ceaco puzzles seem based on a circular cut, this one is all pointy. It did make it fun. Hardest part was the dark lab, the trees were a bit difficult too, but it went breezily just like a 500-piece should- done in a few sittings over two days.
