This is silly, but the other day I didn’t feel like reading at bedtime, so I did a small puzzle instead. On a board on my lap. And took in-progress photos as usual, even though it was all done in one sitting. Just every time I gathered another round of pieces for fitting into place. This puzzle (and the next one) was still brand new in the box, the seal unbroken. So it wasn’t too bad of a puzzling experience, considering. It’s the cheap kind of puzzle with very thin pieces that after just a few workings will never lie flat and hold together well again. Since it was so new the pieces lay flat okay, but they didn’t fit tight, so any little jostle or drag of a sleeve moved something out of place. That said, I still didn’t mind too much. It was only a dollar at the thrift store. Useful for relaxing about ten, twenty minutes (I didn’t time myself) right before sleep.
I was surprised at the box, though. So cheaply made, the manufacturer didn’t even bother to tape or seal the corners of the box up, on the inside:
It’s 11.25 x 8.75 inches completed.

I’ve been having trouble reading before bed lately as well. I bet the puzzle was a nice relaxing thing to do. I usually turn to phone games, which are a poor second to reading.
The box is surprising! I wonder if that was on purpose to give people a flat surface to organize the pieces or something.
Yeah. Nah, I think the manufacturer just didn’t care, and they made it as cheap as possible. It’s a very thin box, too- and they’re marketed towards kids. I’ve seen these kinds of puzzles a lot in places like daycare centers, preschool classes (when mine were little) and nobody ever wanted to do them, because the pieces were always bent or warped (from being so thin) so nothing would stay in place or lie flat and it frustrated the kids. I don’t think I would enjoy this one a second time ’round, myself.
