I felt like this puzzle took me a long time, even though I only worked on it for five days (the two little kid puzzles overlapped this one). The beginning went well enough, the vivid green and brilliant blues of the peacock’s body and floating ‘eyes’ in the tail feathers. All those background feather bits darker around the ‘eyes’ were so much harder, though. Took many sittings, with a lot of try-any-piece-until-one-fits mode near the end. I was impressed how much I liked this puzzle though. The quality was good- sturdy pieces, bright colors, some glare but not bad. Average shape variety in a ribbon cut. I won’t hesitate to pick up another Re-Marks puzzle if I find one with an interesting or pretty picture.
Minor setback in the middle- halfway through, my cats knocked a bunch of pieces off the puzzle board. It was sitting above the couch, and there’s a lot of clutter there, and I had to move and sort through a ton of stuff to find the missing pieces. Shift the couch and sweep behind it, too. I came up with half a dozen in my hand and thought that good, but at the very end two were still missing. Aggravating because at that point I didn’t know if the puzzle had come with two missing pieces, or if they were still in the clutter spot. I sorted more methodically through the stuff, and happily found the last two pieces!
(Now I’m leaving puzzles in-progress on the table covered with other boards, instead of putting it on that spot over the couch. Previously, I’d set the puzzle board on a large box and the other end balances on the couch back. My cats would avoid it because the first time they tried stepping there, the sudden tilt of the board, cascade of pieces and my loud yell startled them badly. But this new cat Eliza is so bold, she doesn’t care about a momentary fright. She’ll walk or dash across that spot again anyways, sigh. Unfortunately there’s not enough room to slide the board under the couch).
Finished size 18 x 24″.
