Sometimes you get a thrift store puzzle dud. This one was difficult. I’ve actually been working on it for over a month, only a few hours each weekend. The subtle shift in hues, especially all the underwater parts, made it really hard to pick out pieces to match. Even though the pieces have great shape variety, which I love about this brand. If they hadn’t had quirky shapes, I might never have attempted it. Not far into puzzling, I realized it was missing quite a few pieces. Five from the edges alone, and at least two more. I decided one day to try my hand at making replacements, even though it’s really hard to do for a photograph picture. I made seven pieces
with varied success
I think these two sky and land pieces came out the best:
Finished up the puzzle yesterday, and found it was missing six more pieces- a total of thirteen. I didn’t bother to make any more replacements. In spite of the difficulty, I thought it was a really cool puzzle due to the wacky shapes, but with so many missing pieces it’s not worth keeping. Probably no one will swap for it either, I’ll end up giving it away if I can. Last photo in the assembly pics shows with the handmade pieces taken out again.
All that said, I did like the challenge of this puzzle. I loved the piece quality and cut, the odd shapes really get my brain thinking in a different way.
